Volunteer Fundraising Officer Role Description Worcester Green Party Greens do politics differently. We are open, involving and have a lot of fun working in teams. Worcester Green Party is a vibrant and successful local party with landmark recent electoral success, winning the popular vote two years running in local elections. We have a lively and growing band of activists and supporters and determined to be able to fund our future electoral success at City, County and the prospect of a first Green MP for Worcester. Role Purpose / Summary Devise and deliver fundraising plans to meet agreed targets for Worcester Green Party. Work with Green councillors and activists to deliver fundraising alongside Membership and Events Officers. Contribute to the Worcester Green Party and West Midlands election plans. Typically will involve 2 - 7 hours per week, low July-Sep, High Oct-May. Key Responsibilities · Develop the case for support in conjunction with key members of the management team so that it works for fundraising. · Be responsible for recommending fundraising techniques and plans to deliver on fundraising requirements within budget constraints. · Develop fundraising products and campaigns in conjunction with the wider team. · Make selections from the data base, plan, write, execute, measure and report on campaigns to continuously learn and improve. · Measure and grow the fundraising donor base in line with medium term targets agreed with the business meeting group. · Work with the Membership Manager and Events Officer Website and Social Media officers to develop and deliver a compelling customer journey for supporters, progressing them up the donor pyramid. · Manage the donor contact strategy in concert with Membership and events to ensure optimum use of the supporter base. · Research best practice amongst Green Party membership organisations, re-using national materials as well as looking to try new ones. Key working relationships · Membership Officer who will provide political and technical guidance, introductions and support. · Local green Councillors and Candidates by ward for Worcester City and county of Worcestershire. · Website Manager, Social Media team and press Officer, Party Coordinator and Campaign Managers across Worcester. NB You will need to become a green party member to access systems and training. Carrying out similar tasks in a voluntary organisation would be just as useful. Familiar with Social media, developing strong content and used to working closely with Social Media Teams. - Desirable Skills and Capabilities Have worked in a Fundraising capacity at some stage in career. Essential Experience or aptitude for working with databases or CRM systems, doing search queries, running reports and analysis (Action Network – A salesforce package is the main admin system but due to change) Essential Skilled in use of social media platforms Essential Confident communicator Essential High standard of English language usage Essential A keen attention to detail, checking content and sources before releasing Essential Intermediate/ advanced MS word, Excel or equivalent e.g., Opensource. - Desirable Able to develop simple creative materials and manage print production. - Desirable Support Provided · Access to a range of resources in The Green Room – a rich National Green Party resource · Access Training Courses provided by regional and national sources · Member activists who may have professionally relevant experience and time to enhance your role and development. · Social Media Team and previous role holders.
