Victim Care Officer
Lancashire Constabulary’s Criminal Justice Department is seeking Victim Care Officers to be based at Chorley.
Victim Care Lancashire are pleased to offer the opportunity to work in a rewarding role providing support and guidance to victims of crime. The team will provide free confidential and non-judgemental advice and support to anyone affected by crime living in Lancashire.
We are looking for people who are compassionate, good listeners and who are understanding of individual’s needs; to provide the best possible help and care for victims to cope and recover. Candidates will require experience in a customer service environment.
Working as part of a team you will:
* Make and respond to telephone calls with victims, listening carefully and with sensitivity.
* Provide reassurance and assess the needs of the victim, emotional and practical support making decisions on how you can best support them, offering practical advice if required.
* Provide information on the criminal justice process and rights under the Victims Code of Practice.
* Manage caseload and associated pre-planned appointments made with victims.
* Update and maintain accurate records on the case management system.
* Make a positive impact on the lives of victims.
