We are looking for a Compound Manager to join our team, based in Port of Sheerness, Kent.

The Management Team will consist of 1x Compound Manager, 2x supervisors, and up to 5 team leaders onsite. You will be responsible for managing the compound supervisors and team leaders and help oversee the management of up to 50 Yard Operatives based at our clients’ large and very busy vehicle storage facility.
Our compound manager will be a crucial part of the Igloo team, playing a pivotal role in managing, and improving compound management activities.
The role is divided into the following main areas of responsibility:
To ensure that all new staff have an onsite Induction and site familiarization on their first day.
To oversee the induction process onsite to ensure a continuous, recorded, robust induction and driving assessment is always being completed.
Provide motivation, guidance, and support to team members during the working day.
Ensure efficiency of team and safe working practices.
Ensure that the supervisors are monitoring vehicle damage and any incident investigation, implementing damage reductions recommendations.
Monitoring & maintaining vehicle parking standards.
To oversee the supervisors performing daily Management Team Question Meetings with the yard team.
Use bespoke Compound management software to allocate tasks to Yard Operatives using handheld scanning devices.
Liaise with our Clients departmental Managers to ensure all required vehicle movements and services are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
To attend regular face-to-face meetings with our client, to talk through forecasts and the day-to-day operation.
To deliver monthly KPI Reporting/ meetings.
Generate reports detailing efficiency of the team, absence rates and damage monitoring reports.
Use KPI and visual results to identify and implement continuous improvement requirements.
The ideal candidate
Will have experience working as a compound manager, overseeing similar day-to-day activities as this job entails.
You will have a proven track record of management experience.
As a people’s person, you will have the knowledge and experience on how to get the best out of your staff to ensure daily targets are met.
Will be confident in reporting departmental P&L to Igloo management.
Will be able to work on your own initiative.
Will be self-motivated.
Will be confident working with all Microsoft packages.
