As an AT Trainer, you will help students with disabilities access the assistive technology (AT) they need to succeed in higher education. You will deliver high-quality training and assessments, advising students on suitable hardware, software, and support to maximize their academic potential. Key Responsibilities: Deliver training on assistive technology to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Conduct structured meetings remotely (via phone/video) and face-to-face as required. Advise on appropriate study strategies, assistive aids, and non-medical helper (NMH) support. Produce study needs assessment reports in line with Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSAs) requirements. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for students while meeting KPIs. What We’re Looking For: Proven Experience: Background in delivering assistive technology training or a similar role, ideally in student disability services. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. DSA Assessment Training: Willingness to undergo training to conduct assessments, if not already qualified. Report Writing: Excellent attention to detail with strong report-writing abilities. Assistive Technology Expertise: Knowledge of a wide range of AT solutions for different disabilities. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines while working independently. Team Player: Collaborative mindset with a focus on achieving team goals.
