Are you an experienced Accounts Technician looking for an exciting opportunity to join a credit control team? Our client, based in Fareham, is seeking a skilled individual to join their team.
In this role, as an Accounts Technician, you will play a crucial part in the collections and management of accounts, ensuring prompt payment and positive customer outcomes. Your responsibilities will include effective credit control activities, efficient query resolution, and minimising aged debt. You will also be involved in maintaining productivity and service standards across teams, collaborating with colleagues in the offshore team, and providing oversight and support to their operations.

Location: Fareham
Pay Rate: £13.50 - £14.30 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am -5pm
Hybrid working available once training has been completed - 1-2 days in the office.
Responsibilities:
1. Utilise effective collection techniques to meet credit control targets.
2. Resolve queries efficiently and take ownership of the ledger for prompt debt collection.
3. Control and minimise aged debt through investigation and proactive debt management.
4. Maintain productivity, quality, and service standards, collaborating with our offshore team.
5. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of credit control processes and actively contribute to efficiency improvements.
6. Provide support on projects to deliver added value, working closely with colleagues.
7. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, establishing strong connections.
8. Identify, reconcile, and clear unallocated cash amounts.
Experience and Skills:
1. Ongoing study or qualifications with the Institute of Credit Management (ICM) is desired.
2. Proven experience in a fast-paced credit control environment.
3. Previous experience in a Finance Operations function or relevant business context.
4. Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel skills for statement production.
5. Solid credit control experience in a financial services background, with insurance experience being desirable.
6. Excellent telephone manner and ability to build relationships with customers.
7. High level of numeracy and literacy.
8. Strong organisational and analytical skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
