Are you passionate about construction and plant operations? Do you want to inspire and support young people in developing essential skills for the industry? Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated Plant and Construction Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant team in Exeter.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in plant machinery, construction, or related trades who wants to make a difference in education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the lead instructor in delivering engaging and practical lessons on plant operation and construction skills.
* Assist students in using tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.
* Provide one-to-one and group support to help students develop technical skills and confidence.
* Maintain a safe and organized workshop/classroom environment.
* Adapt teaching methods to support students with additional learning needs.
* Promote health and safety practices in all activities.
What We’re Looking For:
* Practical experience or knowledge in plant operations, construction, or related fields (e.g., carpentry, bricklaying, groundwork, machinery operation).
* Passion for education and helping young people succeed.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Previous experience in teaching, training, or mentoring is advantageous but not essential.
* A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
