Associate Urban Designer Job in Canterbury, Kent
We have a new opportunity with AJ100, who has a new Associate Urban Designer job. This role offers a chance to take a leading role in a top AJ15 practice's urban design team, working directly under the Group's head of urban design. You will play a key part of a growing team working on projects across the UK.
This AJ100 has over 300 employees and 12 studios across the UK, they are currently expanding its urban design and master planning department. Projects include new build developments and Urban regeneration projects across the UK. Due to this, they are now seeking an associate level urban designer to work directly under the urban design director.
Role & Responsibilities
* Lead and manage urban design and master planning projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
* Collaborate closely with architects, studio directors, and other stakeholders across multiple offices to deliver integrated design solutions.
* Assist in business development activities, supporting bids and building client relationships to secure new projects.
* Mentor and support a small team of urban designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
* Contribute to the growth and development of the urban design discipline within the practice.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience at an Associate or Associate Director level in urban design, with a track record of leading regeneration and strategic housing projects.
* A background in architecture or urban design, with a solid understanding of commercial considerations and the ability to produce viable design solutions.
* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp.
* Excellent writing, drawing, and communication skills.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to work independently and take initiative.
* Experience in engaging with clients and managing complex projects.
