The Counselling Foundation is a well-established charitable organisation dedicated to providing counselling and training services. As a self-employed counsellor, you will play a vital role in expanding our team and supporting us in our growth and innovation in client care.
You will work as a semi-autonomous practitioner assessing clients for suitability for counselling and delivering support to these clients while working closely with the wider team and partner organisations to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place.
Primarily, you will work with clients using PCE-Counselling for Depression or Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy. You may also be asked to work with our subsidised service and with clients on other contracts.
The role requires a qualified counsellor with experience of providing effective time-limited counselling, carrying out assessments of client support needs, including risk assessments, and developing skills in assessing risk and managing complex risk assessment in practice.
The ideal candidate will have a qualification in the NHS/IAPT compliant modality Counselling for Depression (CfD), be registered with BACP/UKCP, and have a minimum of 320 client hours including agency work. Experience of delivering counselling over the phone and/or via video conferencing is also desirable.
