Hands on Catering Manager
Manor Adventure’s Lockerbie Manor is a busy Outdoor Education Centre in Lockerbie, Scotland, catering for up to 240 guests and over 30 instructors each day. We provide a friendly working environment and need people who enjoy working as part of a team. A vacancy has now arisen for a Catering Manager who will be responsible for the management of the kitchen. This is a permanent role.
Accommodation (if required) and food provided free of charge.
Duties:
* You will be responsible for the full management of the kitchen, including but not limited to: employee engagement, rotas, ordering, record keeping and stock control.
* You will also assist in the preparation and cooking of set menu dishes for children and students in order to keep the servery stocked during meal times.
* You will be expected to work up to 48 hours per week over six days in exceptionally busy times.
Experience:
Some experience of catering as well as kitchen management in a similar environment is required.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Be able to cater for up to 250 guests plus staff and set/maintain a high-level standard of food that is on offer.
* Be fully conversant with all food and hygiene regulations.
* Have experience of supervising and motivating a catering team and hold relevant qualifications in catering and food hygiene.
* Effectively communicate with suppliers and external/internal clients.

* Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Experience:
* Chef: 1 year (preferred).
* Cooking: 1 year (preferred).
* Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred).
