We are currently seeking to recruit a Design Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of house-hold fixtures and products. A long-established business, they are an innovative manufacturer and a local employer of choice in the Mid-Ulster area. You will join an established and experienced Design and Development team and contribute to new product development projects.
Your new role
From concept to production, you’ll be responsible for developing new products that meet customer requirements and industry standards. Utilise software tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD (or similar) to create detailed 3D models and precise CAD drawings. Bring your ideas to life by developing and testing prototypes. Choose materials wisely to optimise product performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness. Work closely with cross-functional teams - marketing, sales, and production to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness during the design-to-production process. Implement robust quality control procedures to ensure our products meet all relevant standards and specifications. Be part of successful product launches by collaborating with various teams. Prepareprehensive design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
What you'll need to succeed
To prove successful in securing the Design Engineers role, you should have a third-level qualification in Mechanical Design Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product design. Proficiency in 3D modelling and CAD software (, SolidWorks, AutoCAD). A strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience with prototyping and testing. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail and the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
