The role
As a Deputy Logistics Coordinator you will perform a range of admin and clerical duties, delivers commitments to agreed levels of quality, time and to schedule. At this level it requires a thorough understanding of department processes and procedures, undertaking initial investigations into problems, producing statistical summaries
Day to day, you’ll
1. Undertake a range of clerical and administrative duties within a department to ensure the smooth running of the department
2. Process a wide range of documents and information received from a range of sources, including reconcile records to ensure accuracy of data and the system
3. Build relations with stakeholders, customers and suppliers and exchange information
4. File documents and keeps filing systems up to date such that information can be readily retrieved for others
5. Work in a systematic, logical, and structured approach to ensure full visibility of shipping status for each activity.
6. Creating, controlling and issuing shipping instructions to our supply chain – Vendor locations vary: UK, Europe and Far East.
7. Co-ordinate shipping arrangements with freight forwarder using all modes of transport
This role is full time 37hrs/week and will be based at Rosyth site with hybrid arrangements: 2 days a week in the office, 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Deputy Logistics Coordinator:
8. Good understanding of the systems, processes and procedures, and their importance within the general operation of a department.
9. Time served experience in a clerical or logistics environment.
10. Works independently, understands the priorities and deadlines within the department or area, personally commits to work originators delivery times and prioritises own workload to meet deadlines.
