Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery located in North Lincolnshire is a key asset for the Prax Group and is a world-class supplier of quality fuels. Constructed in 1968, it has the capacity to process up to 5.4 million tonnes of crude oil per year (up to 113,000 barrels a day) and currently employs around 450 staff in addition to a similar complement of contract personnel. The refinery extends over 500 acres and incorporates some of the most advanced refining and conversion processes in Europe, supplying products by road, rail, sea and pipeline. To meet future demands, Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery is developing a next generation refinery with an unwavering commitment to decarbonise and reduce our CO2 released into atmosphere as the site transitions to become a leading, low carbon refinery. We are recruiting for a Business Team Manager (Offsites) to join the Performance Team, reporting directly to the Refinery General Manager. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations and logistics assets within the business team, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with environmental and quality standards. Key Accountabilities include:- Safety and Compliance : Promote and maintain a positive HSEQI (Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Integrity) culture, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Operations Management : Lead the operations of production and logistics installations, ensuring safety, availability, energy performance, and compliance with product quality standards. Maintenance Coordination : Oversee the maintenance activities, including preventive plans, minor modifications, and the development of long-term maintenance strategies. Performance Optimisation : Conduct performance reviews, identify process improvements, and ensure effective communication and follow-up on remedial actions. Financial Oversight : Manage controllable OPEX (Operational Expenditure), monitor variances, and implement improvement actions to optimize costs. Team Leadership : Conduct appraisals, manage succession planning, and ensure effective communication within the team and with other departments. Interface Management : Ensure alignment and effective communication between the business team and other departments, addressing and resolving interface issues. Project Management : Lead the identification and execution of projects, including modifications, maintenance shutdowns, and turnarounds. Document Control : Manage controlled documents, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with refinery standards. Incident Management : Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions. Emergency Preparedness : Review and update emergency procedures and participate in safety drills. Qualifications/Experience Required: The successful candidate will be a Chartered Engineer or hold an equivalent professional qualification, with a strong technical knowledge of refining processes. Having a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, with proven leadership, organisational, and communication skills, you will have demonstrated competence in managing operations, maintenance, and performance within a refinery or similar industrial environment.
