Our client is an industry leader in renewable energy across the UK. They are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team as an Onshore Termination and Joint Inspector.
The candidate will be responsible for:
1. The inspection and the quality assurance of jointing, termination and testing of cables, in compliance with company HVC requirements and standards during onshore T&T phase of project execution.
2. Acting as the company's representative for the inspection and quality assurance of jointing, termination and testing of HVDC and HVAC cables at site.
3. Understanding company quality TR(s) and product relevant CIGRE standards, and ensuring that supplier comply with all the above.
4. Inspecting cable systems including termination of HVC at joint bay locations in accordance with project requirements, TRs, standards and designated inspection reporting tool.
5. Witnessing sheath, HVRT, AC and DC, OTDR testing, as well as other cable or termination tests that might be required.
6. Reviewing T&T-related documentation including procedures to ensure compliance with accepted RAMS from supplier/contractor prior to onshore T&T campaign.
7. Complying with and enforcing company QHSE requirements at site.
8. Preparing DPR to the company Export Cable Technical Scope Manager and updating progress table as required by the Project.
9. Preparing or ensuring approved PtW is in place prior to T&T activities at site.
10. Interfacing and ensuring effective communication with Landfall, Onshore installation contractor, Converter station and TSO teams at site.
11. Preparing or adapting inspection checklists for testing activities during onshore T&T phase (incl. use of Digital Inspection Tool, DIT).
12. Ensuring cable T&T activities are carried out in a safe environment and in due time, including ensuring availability of calibrated test equipment at site.
13. Gathering weather data and ensuring T&T activities can be carried out within acceptable weather window at site.
14. Ensuring daily shift report is handed over and shared with the company's Export Cable Technical Scope Manager.
15. Responsible for Management of Change.
16. Responsible for the punch list, handover certification, NCR management and LL in Synergi during onshore T&T phase, including communicating any non-conformance/damage defect notifications at site to the company's Export Cable Technical Scope Manager.
17. Reviewing and accepting T&T-related as-built documentation.
18. Participating in internal team and external supplier's T&T-related meetings.
Requirements for this position include:
1. Skills in HV cable jointing/termination, cable cleating systems, earthing and bonding of cable systems.
2. Strong QHSE awareness in an industrial/construction/offshore sector.
3. Ability to interpret industry standards, company TRs, and familiarity with HVDC system, HVAC system and FOC testing. Familiar with high voltage equipment in general, including cables and accessories (voltage level from and above 132kV).
