Care & Support Worker - Young People @ Footprints
About the Role
Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity to ensure young people have the best opportunity to live the lives that they deserve?
We are now hiring full time (39 hours per week on a rota basis) Care & Support Workers for a mixture of day AND night shifts, at our Footprints home in rural Stodmarsh, Canterbury. We are looking for individuals who really want to enhance the lives of young people with physical and complex health needs.

Job Opportunity
As a Care and Support Worker at Footprints you'll:
1. Improve health and wellbeing and provide all forms of personal care to the young people who use our services.
2. Ensure all aspects of the young people’s personal and emotional care are fully met.
3. Maximise their experiences and developmental opportunities and encourage them to reach their full potential by promoting their independence.
4. Assist in arranging trips, outings and holidays and accompanying the young people when required.
5. Support and participate in all areas of the running of the home, keeping it clean and tidy and adhering to Health and Safety requirements.

Footprints specialise in the care of young people with disabilities. The residential home is based in a rural location in Canterbury (Stodmarsh) and offers a mix of privacy and togetherness. See our website for further information
Shift times at Footprints:
6. Split Shift - 6.30am – 10am then 3pm – 8pm
7. Late 3pm – 8pm
8. Early 6.30am – 10am
9. Long day 7.30am – 8pm
10. Nights 7.30pm – 8am
Footprints provides care on a 24-hour basis, 7 days a week including weekends and bank holidays. This means we value reliable and flexiblestaff. Essential Skills
Our ideal Care and Support Worker will:
11. Be able to communicate clearly with young people adapting to their individual requirements.
12. Be committed to deliver a high level of care and support, maximising independence and enjoyment for our service users.
13. Have the motivation to use own initiative and develop activities and events for service users.
14. Have the confidence to work without constant supervision but seeking advice and assistance where required.
15. Be able to clearly and appropriately communicate both orally and in written form with people inside and outside the Foundation.
16. Hold Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent or be willing to attain this qualification.
Although not essential, being a driver would be beneficial too, not just because Footprints is based in a very rural location.
