Are you a Senior OR Semi-Senior Accountant?
Are you an accounting professional ready to take the next step in your career? Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior or Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team in their Rochdale office. In this full-time role, you'll work with a diverse portfolio of clients and be involved in a range of accounting responsibilities, from bookkeeping to tax filings.
Key Responsibilities of the Accountant:
1. Perform bookkeeping tasks across various digital platforms.
2. Prepare, calculate, and submit VAT returns to HMRC.
3. Compile management accounts for clients.
4. Prepare, calculate, and submit Self-Assessment returns to HMRC.
5. Draft annual financial statements.
6. Prepare, calculate, and submit Corporation Tax returns to HMRC.
7. Regularly liaise with clients to provide tailored support and financial guidance.
8. Manage a consistent portfolio of clients, building strong, ongoing relationships.
Qualifications and Skills of the Accountant:
1. Proficient in IT, with experience using Microsoft Office and familiarity with various accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, IRIS/Digita preferred).
2. Strong communication skills, with confidence in liaising with clients via phone, email, and face-to-face.
3. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
5. Prior experience in public practice is preferred.
6. AAT or higher qualifications are a strong advantage.
Position Details for Senior Accountant:
1. Type: Full-time, Permanent
2. Salary: Competitive pay dependent on experience
3. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm
4. Location: Rochdale office with the flexibility of hybrid considered in the future.
