We are looking for caring and passionate individuals to join our dedicated team of Support Workers, working in our Support Living service in Ystrad Mynach.
We have various part-time, permanent positions available.
This service needs to be staffed 24/7 so you will be required to work various shift patterns including days, evenings, weekends, waking nights, and sleep-in shifts. Day shifts are typically split between 7am-3pm/2.30pm-10pm and waking nights 9.30pm-7.30 am. We have varied shift times along with sleep-ins and waking night shifts at the service, for which you will receive an enhancement. We also make sure you have every other weekend off.
Due to the needs of the individuals we support in this service, the post holder for this role is required to be female.

What is the role?
This service is in Ystrad Mynach and at the home of 2 fun-loving and creative individuals with learning and physical disabilities. This is a high support need service and will be working with these incredible individuals to enhance their various skills and support them with daily activities.
One of the individuals we support has their medication administered via PEG – all relevant training and competency sign-off will be completed.

Duties for this role are:
* Supporting individuals day and night, in a person-centred way to live their life to the fullest.
* Providing emotional support.
* Completing various cleaning and administrative duties.
* Being able to bring fresh ideas to the team and implement different ways of working.
* Stock checking individuals' medications.
* Supporting individuals with their finances.
What skills and experience do you need?
A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are:
* A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible.
* An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives.
* A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player.
What are the pay and benefits?
* An hourly rate of £12.15 making the annual salary £23,376 (FTE).
* Sleep-in rate - £62.64.
* Wakeful night rate - £12.15 + 20%.
