Job Duties
The NSU Department of Nursing and Allied Health, centrally located on NSU's main campus in the state-of-the-art Nursing and General Education Building, has an immediate opening for a full time 9 month didactic and clinical faculty. This is a non-tenured position. The nursing faculty member will teach didactic courses and clinical courses, depending on expertise and the needs of the department, which may vary. This faculty member reports to the Chair of the Department of Nursing and Allied Health and collaborates closely with the Nursing Program Director. Application Reviews begin November l, 2023 and continue until position is filled.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Earned Master of Science in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
2. Evidence ofcurrent experience in nursing practice (minimum of five years).
3. Ability to teach, conduct research/creative activities, and provide service.
4. A current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse or multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia, or ability to obtain one prior to start date.
Additional Considerations
1. A terminal degree in the discipline (PhD, DNP, EdD) with nursing focus.
2. Substantive specialization or certification in a nursing specialty field.
3. Experience teaching in clinical environments and virtual simulation learning platform.
4. Knowledge of higher education and nursing accreditation processes.
