We are recruiting an Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Newcastle!
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment including some plumbing
* Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
* Maintain the pressure systems and drainage of water by assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures
* Perform periodic inspections on plant, machinery and automated systems
* Schedule planned and preventative maintenance work, which may be outside normal working hours
* Repair or replace broken or defective components
* Maintain an equipment, parts and supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies.
* Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
* Document all maintenance works carried out in line with Company & Statutory compliance procedures.
The successful candidate will be a Mechanical Engineer who is proficient in various disciplines, capable of handling a range of maintenance and repairs on-site. Their responsibilities include performing inspections, diagnosing and fixing equipment issues, conducting repairs across different systems, and ensuring smooth operations on site.
Hours
* Monday - Friday
* 8am - 5pm
* Overtime & weekend flexibility required
* On-Call schedule available
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
* Maintaining boiler systems and plumbing installations including valves pumps and multiple distribution LPHW & HWS (not gas systems)
* Demonstrate a good understanding and be technically competent in all aspects of mechanical maintenance, in particular, generators, water treatment, refrigeration and air conditioning, and HVAC system.
* Time served Mechanical Technician in any mechanical trade.
