40 Hour contract. Salary of £24500 - £28500 depending on relevant qualifications.
The above rates do not include overtime or yearly bonus.

Residential Child Care Workers are responsible for the day-to-day health and wellbeing for all of the young people within Orchard Cottage. You must be able to work as part of a team with colleagues and other professionals, to offer a comprehensive service that meets the physical, social, emotional, mental health and care needs of the vulnerable children and young people within our home.
Duties will include actively and effectively safeguarding and promoting the rights of children and young people, teaching life skills and coping strategies, building confidence, self-esteem and resilience, accompanying them to and from education, facilitating family time, creating a warm, comforting and homely environment including all daily household tasks and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies. The role also involves the monitoring, recording and completion of all relevant paperwork involved with the young person’s care accurately.
You should be confident in providing exceptional care and support while being able to demonstrate a sound value base. You will be motivated, empathetic and understanding, able to establish and build on nurturing meaningful relationships which will enable you to fully understand the young persons views, wishes and feelings to allow us to effectively advocate for them. Applicants must be passionate about effecting long term change in the lives of vulnerable children and young people by providing essential support that enables them to reach their full potential.

We are looking to hire employees that have experience of working with Autism, disabilities and personal care, along with having relevant qualifications ideally possess an SVQ in Children and Young people coupled with an HNC in Social Services (or higher/or accepted equivalent line with the SSSC qualification requirements) or the ability and commitment to gain these qualifications whilst in post. Successful applicants are required to register with the SSSC and maintain the conditions of their registration throughout employment.
A full driving licence is preferable in order to undertake the full duties of the role which includes accompanying our young people on outings, meetings or responding to emergency situations appropriately. Applicants without a driving licence will be considered in line with balancing the team's needs as well as the Equality Act.
