Purpose & ScopeThe Senior Programmer will play a vital role in designing, curating, and executing The Conduits annual programme of 150+ events, balancing creative programming responsibilities with administrative and logistical support. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, mission-aligned events that inspire collaboration, foster engagement, and address global challenges. By cultivating impactful partnerships, sourcing innovative content, and driving event execution, the Senior Programmer will support The Conduits mission while contributing to its operational efficiency.
Reporting to the Head of Programming, the Senior Programmer will manage the end-to-end delivery of assigned events, from conceptualization and speaker coordination to onsite operations and post-event reporting. This role also involves working closely with internal teams to streamline logistics, implement the Inclusion and Diversity strategy, and maintain seamless processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate curiosity, remain actively engaged with the programming community, and balance strategic leadership with hands-on administrative contributions.
You should have:
A strong network of potential speakers across The Conduits focus areas, both locally and globally.
Experience collaborating with contacts across industriessuch as film, publishing, podcasts, entertainment, news, and businessthat act as content feeders for The Conduits Impact Programme series, sourcing innovative ideas and contributors.
Demonstrates curiosity and remains actively engaged with the programming community to identify emerging trends, develop relevant, timely content, and bring fresh perspectives and connections to The Conduits events.
Strong project management, time management, and prioritization skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to foster relationships and build networks.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Responsibilities & Key Duties
Event Programming Support:
Assist the Head of Programming in delivering The Conduits annual programme of over 150 events.
Manage the design-to-delivery process for assigned events, ensuring high-quality execution.
Support the implementation of the Inclusion and Diversity strategy within the programming framework.
Content Development & Partnerships:
Collaborate with the Marketing Team to promote assigned events, secure speaker engagement, and increase brand visibility.
Support the Head of Programme and the Business Development Team with the design and execution of Impact Partner events
Assist in building and maintaining relationships with topic experts to support their engagement as advisors or speakers.
Help identify and develop content partnerships that drive member engagement and support membership recruitment.
Innovation & Impact Measurement:
Contribute ideas for innovative programming that enhances The Conduits societal impact.
Support efforts to measure the impact of events and gather insights for continuous improvement.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Head of Programming and other team members to ensure seamless event delivery.
Provide input and support to Impact Programme colleagues, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Administrative Support and Onsite Event Coordination
For assigned events, serve as the primary contact for event-day operations, ensuring smooth check-ins, welcoming key participants, and managing onsite logistics and personnel.
Coordinate with Programme Coordinator and internal departments for tech support, livestreaming, and other venue requirements.
Contribute to and assist with updating internal calendars, scheduling tools (e.g., Triple Seat, Monday.com), and guest lists.
Assist with creating and updating posts for the website and CRM tools, including PeopleVine and HubSpot.
Support tracking event attendance and assist in maintaining accurate reporting.
Manage database entries, copywriting, and updating event materials for assigned events.
Other Duties:
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Assist with additional tasks as required to support The Conduits overall success.

Educational & Skills
2+ years of work experience in public programming, curation, speaker events, conferences, cultural institutions, non-profits, think tanks, media production, or a related field, with a proven ability to design and deliver impactful programs across diverse topics.
Experience or knowledgeeither professionally or personallyin social impact areas
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficiency in Adobe Packages such as InDesign, Photoshop etc (a plus)
