Process Technician

Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Process Technician to join our clients manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the efficiency of production processes, ensuring equipment runs smoothly and product quality is upheld. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and adjusting processes, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Monitoring: Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure that processes run within specified parameters. Make necessary adjustments to equipment to maintain optimal performance and ensure product consistency.
Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose issues with production equipment or processes. Perform minor repairs or adjustments and escalate complex issues to the engineering or maintenance teams.
Preventive Maintenance: Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure equipment runs reliably and prevent unplanned downtime.
Data Collection & Reporting: Record and analyse data related to production processes, including machine settings, outputs, and product quality. Provide detailed reports and feedback to process engineers for further optimisation.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of in-process products to ensure they meet quality standards. Work closely with quality control teams to address any deviations or defects, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly.
Health & Safety: Adhere to all company health and safety regulations, ensuring processes are compliant with workplace standards. Report any potential hazards or incidents to supervisors immediately.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and improving product quality. Suggest and implement small-scale process improvements where possible.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with production operators, engineers, and maintenance teams to support smooth operations and resolve process-related issues. Assist in training operators on new processes or equipment.Qualifications:
GCSEs or equivalent required; a technical diploma or NVQ in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
2+ years of experience in a process technician or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a production or process environment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodology.
Experience with automated or PLC-controlled systems.Working Conditions:
Based in a manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial processes.
