With several sites across the Midlands and South, our client is a leading plant and equipment hire company for the construction industry, offering products including attachments and hydraulic equipment. Due to growth, our client is looking for an experienced Hire Controller to join their Avonmouth depot. You will be responsible for raising hire contracts & off hires, dealing with customer enquiries over the phone and via email, and ensuring all relevant information is obtained. This role includes liaising with drivers and workshop staff to ensure customers' needs and timelines are met.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage hire desk enquiries from existing and potential customers.
2. Maintain allocation of plant to meet customer requirements.
3. Administration of equipment's inspection sheets and relevant certificates.
4. Timely issue of hire contracts and supporting documentation.
5. Arranging transport to and from site.
6. Liaising with transport companies: obtaining quotations, booking hire of transport, checking haulage contractor invoices, etc.
7. Operating the hire fleet control software: recording the availability of units, recording transport and consumable costs, etc.
8. Maintaining a high level of customer service.
9. Liaising with both customers and suppliers.
10. Obtaining and actioning all customer and site requests.
11. Arranging plant movements.
12. Issuing purchase orders.
13. Issuing invoices.
14. Completing reports as requested by the Director or customers.
The Candidate:
1. You must have demonstrable experience of working as a Hire Controller or Hire Manager within the plant/equipment/tool hire industry.
2. You must be able to commute to Avonmouth and be able to work 1 Saturday a month.
3. You will be organised, punctual, reliable & willing to learn.
