We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Retail Manager to support the Retail Manager in the running of Alnwick Castle retail outlets. This is a permanent position based at Alnwick Castle, with flexible working: 3 days (22.5 hours) over 7 days (April to October) and 3 days over 5 (November to March). There will be weekend and Bank Holiday working required and occasional evenings with potential to increase hours as the role develops. About the Role The role is to assist the Retail Manager in providing a first class retail offer for our visitors by ensuring the retail units are merchandised appropriately to promote an attractive offer to a wide variety of customers. To deliver exceptional customer service and follow all relevant company procedures including till and stock operations. To assist in the day-to-day supervision of retail outlets, including, sales, staff and stock resources management. To assist in maintaining supplier relationships. To research new stock lines as dictated by visitor demographics. Training, Experience & Qualifications A good standard of education, including qualifications in English Language, Mathematics and IT is required. Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and customer service. Supervisory experience Full UK driving licence preferable Retail management experience Knowledge & Skills Excellent ICT skills Experienced EPOS systems (currently Access Gamma) advantageous Excellent attention to detail General awareness of Health & Safety and security Good planning and organisational skills
