Who are we looking for?
To look after the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs of the Residents using a person-centered approach.
Responsibilities include:
1. To observe and promote the Resident’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfillment, and other rights.
2. To create and maintain good professional relationships with Residents, their family and friends, and other stakeholders.
3. To actively support other Care Workers.
4. To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and Bellavista policies, procedures, and guidelines.
5. To actively market Caring Hands and promote a positive, personal, and professional profile, ensuring the good reputation of Caring Hands at all times.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Care provision
1. To provide personal care and support to Residents with a wide range of needs, illnesses, and disabilities.
2. To know and understand the care and support of the Resident.
3. To undertake the tasks detailed in the Resident’s care and support plan using a person-centered approach and in the least intrusive way.
4. To encourage the independence and motivation of the Residents and not foster dependent behavior.
5. To provide input into the care and support plans of Residents by regularly feeding back to the Field Care Supervisor.
6. To assist Residents getting up in the morning and going to bed at night.
7. To assist Residents to wash, bath, and shower.
8. To assist Residents to dress and undress.
9. To assist Residents to look after their skin, teeth, hair, and nails.
10. To assist Residents with toileting, continence management, and personal hygiene.
11. To assist Residents with their medication at the agreed level of support and as detailed in their Medication Care Needs Assessment.
12. To prepare food and drink for the Residents, being aware of the Resident's choice, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs, and cultural requirements.
13. To provide light general household domestic duties, including housework and laundry, as detailed in the care plan or instructed by Management.
14. To use manual handling equipment safely and correctly.
15. To take responsibility for the safe handling of property and equipment belonging to the Residents.
16. To maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with Residents.
17. To provide companionship to the Residents, actively talking and listening to them about their interests.
18. To help the Residents to maintain contact with their family and friends.
19. To accompany the Residents on trips into the community.
20. To assist the Residents to manage their personal affairs.
21. To ensure as safe as possible the living environment for the Residents, whilst respecting the Resident’s choice and rights.
Recording and Reporting
1. To maintain detailed accurate records in respect of care and medication support given and tasks undertaken.
2. To regularly read care and support plans, acknowledging changes.
3. To protect the confidentiality of all information relating to the Residents and not divulge information to anyone who is not authorized to receive it.
To dress appropriately, wearing uniform and using personal protective equipment provided by Bellavista.
To seek out best practice and look at innovative ways to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
To attend and participate in regular Care Worker team meetings and any other relevant meetings.
To attend in-house and external training pertinent to the role of Care Worker.
To ensure completed weekly time sheets are submitted on time.
To observe all health & safety rules and take reasonable care to promote health and safety of self and others and raise any concerns to the Field Care Supervisor.
To aim to ensure everyone has equal treatment and equal access to services and employment.
Any other duties requested by Senior Management, which are within the scope of the post.

Salary range: £11 to £12 depending on relevant experience and care qualifications.
