Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is centralto Amazon's commitment to innovation. As Amazon evolves and adapts,this team makes sure that the tools and technologies we use do aswell. As a Senior RME Technician, you'll help us stay one stepahead, adopting the latest technologies and identifying new andefficient ways of working. In this role, you’ll pay close attentionto our processes to help maintain our high standards, and you’llput in place upgrades to take that standard even higher.
Key jobresponsibilities
Demonstrate best practice on usingequipment safely and monitor teams to ensure everyone follows thecorrect processes
Keep track of equipment performancethrough visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventativemaintenance tasks and schedule additional servicing when required
Supervise technicians on shift to support theirdevelopment and act as the first point of contact for ReliabilityMaintenance Engineers
Solve issues in equipment toreduce downtime for operations so they can process packages asquickly as possible
Support in finding ways tocontinually improve systems and standardise processes across the EUnetwork
A day in the life
In everyshift, you’ll be leading a team to make sure everyone has theequipment they need and that it’s running properly. That involvesmonitoring processes so that regulations and policies are followedand ensuring that preventative maintenance is carried out toincrease equipment uptime.
With everythingyou observe on your shifts, you’ll suggest improvements to make oursystems more efficient and productive and then implement thoseimprovements across an EU-wide function. You’ll also be monitoringprocesses with tools like Scada to guarantee their performance, aswell as working closely with your line manager to assist with admintasks.
This role is located at one of ouroperational sites. You’ll work shift patterns, which may includesome weekends and nights. As you develop your experience withinthis exciting part of Amazon, you’ll be well-placed to progressinto more senior roles.

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME teamkeep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technicallyminded team, made up of excellent team players and guided byexperienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot andrepair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they workon exciting technology – some of which only exists atAmazon.
From installing automated packagingsystems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site torepairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspectsof Amazon’s technical side. This includes keeping buildings legallycompliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating atmaximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunities forprogression, both within the RME team and more widely acrossAmazon.
Everything we do focuses on reducingdowntime in Amazon’s crucial operations sites, so customers gettheir orders on time. We often work during early or late hours tocarry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including nightshifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skillsand the opportunity to develop and introduce completely newprocesses or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our ComplexItem Sorter.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/orqualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
•Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines withrelevant experience in automation or complex.
• MHEenvironments.
• Solid foundational knowledge of PLC basedcontrols systems.
• Experience using CMMS (ComputerizedMaintenance Management Systems) to plan proactivemaintenance.
• and record reactive tasks.
•Knowledge of Statutory Compliance requirements.
• Abilityto communicate (written & verbal) in English
