Kent County Council (KCC) is seeking Assistant Surveyors to join our Infrastructure Real Estate team. As an Assistant Surveyor, you will provide support to Surveyors on a range of portfolio projects, ensuring all necessary actions are taken to maximise value, minimise operational costs/liabilities, and promote efficient use of assets.
You will be a self-motivated individual who wants to make a difference to the portfolios and assets your team are responsible for. These are solution focused roles that will be rewarding for the right individual who would like to deliver a better public estate for KCC and its residents as they develop their own career in the Surveying profession.
We have vacancies across both our Estates and Disposals & Investment team for Assistant Surveyors based in the County of Kent with access to beautiful countryside, coastal destinations, historic towns and villages.
What you'll do:
1. Support the delivery of proactive property advice and guidance to KCC and its partners.
2. Maximise value, minimise operational costs/liabilities, and promote efficient use of assets.
3. Implement activity and operating policies to ensure that portfolios of land and property are managed effectively.
4. Deliver a programme of property estate deliverables in accordance with KCCs Strategic objectives, including Framing Kents Future
5. Undertake your own and support specific projects, researching and providing advice and information on a range of issues.
6. Ensuring value for money through driving externally procured property consultancy advice as necessary.
What you'll need:
7. A Level 3 qualification or equivalent or relevant first level professional qualification
8. Experience of working in a similar environment, with a range of occupied and unoccupied property
9. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
10. Ability to think laterally with a problem solving approach.
11. Knowledge of working in a property environment with a portfolio
12. Good ICT skills.
