The company’s Head Office is at Westlakes Science and Technology Park in West Cumbria, with systems integration, assembly & testing facilities in Egremont, Cumbria and design offices in Preston, Lancashire. This is augmented by a network of staff working across the UK, creating a dynamic and highly skilled team.
To provide project management expertise into Delkia’s portfolio – delivering key projects comprising product, process and system development. The post-holder will contribute to the enhancement of Delkia’s project management framework to ensure current and future projects within Delkia are delivered in line with best practice project management techniques.
The Project Manager has primary responsibility for defining, planning, tracking and managing the project(s) to which they are assigned. Projects will involve stakeholders from different areas of the business, regulatory bodies, the external Delkia community and suppliers.
The post-holder is responsible for leading the project resources to ensure the project objectives are accomplished. They must understand when project exceptions need to be escalated through the governance processes, ensuring options and recommendations for resolution are identified.
The post-holder will have the personal and professional experience to build and manage meaningful and supportive relationships across the portfolio team, project teams and with internal and external stakeholders as required throughout the delivery cycle.
Limits of authority will be as defined for individual projects and may vary dependent on the type and scale of the projects being delivered. In all cases, governance structures will ensure the Project Manager has the delegated authority to successfully deliver project outcomes.
Work collaboratively with the Project Teams to deliver the assigned project to defined cost, schedule, and quality requirements, leading to a successful handover.
Support Tender Submissions from a Project Management perspective.
Tracking and monitoring project spending and reporting variances, using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
Prepare meeting packs/presentations, capturing minutes, agreed actions, updating teams and senior management.
Positively influence key stakeholders (both internal & external) associated with the project.
Developing and maintaining project documentation templates.
Ensuring all project deliverables are completed in line with the schedule.
Identify potential dependencies, assumptions, risks, exceptions, opportunities (DAREO), project problems, mitigation contingencies and implement corrective actions. Play an active part in Lessons Identified process across all projects and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
Take ownership and pride in your work and promoting project management success through the team.
Manage proposed changes to project parameters – e.g. scope, budget, schedules.
Monitor the quality of project deliverables and ensure project objectives are met.
Conduct project meetings and attend programme and portfolio meetings where required.
Degree (or working to) in Project Management (desirable)
APM Project Management Qualification (desirable)
Proven experience of delivering projects to time, cost and quality
Successful experience of translating analysis into practical implementation
Proficient with the full Microsoft Office suite
Schedule baseline creation and management
Detail orientated, high standard of accuracy & quality
