We are currently looking to recruit two Property Lawyers to join the Property Energy and Infrastructure subteam within our Development & Investment team, part of our UK National Property Group. This person can be based at any of our Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds or Manchester. We are ideally looking to recruit a candidate with upwards of 8 years’ PQE who is admitted and qualified in either England & Wales or Scotland and has experience of the property aspects of energy and/or infrastructure projects.

Work Highlights
1. Advising bp Aberdeen Hydrogen Limited (a joint venture between bp International Limited and Aberdeen City Council) on the property aspects of their green hydrogen project comprising a facility for the production, storage and distribution of green hydrogen powered by a ground mounted solar farm located nearby.
2. Advised the shareholders of the 576 MW Awel Y Môr Offshore Wind Farm project (RWE/SWM/Siemens/GIG). This included agreements with the neighbouring Gwynt Y Môr offshore wind farm on compensation for production losses, the terms of the grid connection and the lease agreements for the project.
3. Advising the project promoter on all property aspects of a major carbon capture, utilisation and storage project in the UK.
4. Advising Tesco Stores Limited on the lease arrangements with various suppliers for the roll out of roof top solar on Tesco's portfolio of stores in the UK as part of Tesco's pathway to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2035.
5. Advised Cory Environmental Limited on the property aspects of its 96MW Riverside Energy Park on the banks of the River Thames which will include waste energy recovery, waste anaerobic digestion, battery storage and solar generation and associated electrical connections.
6. Advised Transport for London on all property aspects of the £1bn Silvertown Tunnel project in east London.
7. Advising the Environment Agency on all property issues related to the £500m River Thames Flood Defence Scheme.
The Candidate Required
The successful candidates will be either England & Wales or Scotland qualified (or dual qualified) and will have many years’ experience in property work on energy and infrastructure projects with a large regional or national practice.
They will have a strong academic background and an outgoing personality. Candidates must also be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about, and demonstrate a track record of, business development. They will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach.
Lawyers joining this friendly and dynamic UK-wide team will encounter a broad range of energy and infrastructure property work, acting for a range of high-profile clients on large and nationally significant energy and infrastructure transactions. In particular the successful candidate will work on wind (on and offshore), solar, hydrogen, carbon capture, battery storage and nuclear transactions in the energy sphere and road, rail and ports and other major infrastructure projects, acting for a mix of clients, including public authorities, developers, investors, funders and utility companies. Whilst the successful candidate will sit within our Development & Investment team (which is part of our UK national Property Group), they will have close links to our energy and infrastructure sectors, which are two of our Global Sectors.
