About the opportunity:
The Box Encapsulation Plant project is one of the most important construction projects at the Sellafield Site, the plant will play a vital role in Sellafield’s 100-year clean-up programme by taking nuclear waste recovered from the sites original waste plants and encasing it in concrete so it can be stored in a modern building. The plant is primarily designed to deal with waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo, one of four legacy waste plants prioritised for clean-up by Sellafield Ltd’s owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). Alongside that work, the plant will also receive certain wastes from the other three legacy waste stores, the First Generation Magnox Storage Pond, the Pile Fuel Storage Pond, and Pile Fuel Cladding Silo.
We are currently looking for a Civil Engineer for our team at Sellafield Site.
Some of your duties will be:
1. Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis
2. Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements
3. Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time
4. Produce procurement schedules for the jobs and liaise with the procurement department to ensure site have adequate resources to complete the tasks
5. Produce ITP’s and Task Briefings
6. Produce 2 week look ahead in conjunction with the Project team
7. Produce Site Diaries and Allocation Sheets
Here's What You'll Need:
8. Previous experience of setting out on civil engineering projects.
9. Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations
10. Degree/HNC qualified, or equivalent, in civil engineering
11. Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with both clients and staff
