The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazonis fundamental to our operations – they’re the ones keeping vitalmachinery running at all times. As an RME Technician, you’llmaintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholdingHealth and Safety best practices. You'll help to keep yourcolleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. •Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a livedistribution warehouse

A day in thelife
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they canrespond quickly to any machinery issues. You’ll carry out a rangeof planned preventative maintenance to our sites’ equipment to makesure it’s working safely. As an RME Technician, you’ll also respondpromptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementingsolutions as quickly as possible. You’ll also make suggestions forlong-term improvements.
Working alongsidesenior colleagues, you’ll undertake day-to-day maintenance taskslike painting and plumbing and will liaise with contractors if youneed external expertise. You’ll work on a range of shifts to makesure our sites are supported around the clock – allowing Amazon todeliver at the speed we’re known for.

OurReliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipmentperforming at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up ofexcellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We worktogether to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across ourglobal network of fulfilment centres. Some of our people areleaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology –some of which only exists at Amazon.
From installingautomated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenanceof a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handlesmost aspects of Amazon’s technical side. This includes keepingbuildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites areoperating at maximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunitiesfor progression, both within the RME team and more widely acrossAmazon.
Everything we do focuses on reducingdowntime in Amazon’s crucial operations sites, so customers gettheir orders on time. We often work during early or late hours tocarry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including nightshifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skillsand the opportunity to develop and introduce completely newprocesses or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our ComplexItem Sorter.
BASICQUALIFICATIONS
NVQ Level 3 (or international equivalent)in an engineering discipline or another practical engineeringqualification
- Relevant experience as a qualifiedengineer
- Relevant experience working in mechanicaland/or electrical maintenance
- Advanced proficiency inthe local language verbally and inwriting.
