Randstad are recruiting for a Mechanical Assembler for a client based in South Bristol. They are a well established company and part of a global group that specialises in manufacturing machinery.
Reporting to the Assembly Team Leader, the role will entail the assembly and commissioning of machines, machine modules and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings and 3D models.
Key Responsibilities
1. Follow all department procedures
2. Assemble parts to the required specification including:
3. Machine build
4. Modular assemblies
5. Sub-assemblies
6. Complete all quality documentation required for the tasks
7. Identify problems with assemblies / parts and raise any quality issues following the company procedures
8. Operate handling equipment and machinery when trained to do so
9. Support the sustainment and improvement of housekeeping and health and safety practices
10. Support in the implementation and sustainment of 5S standards
11. Assist in the achievement of the Assembly operational plan to include on time delivery and build efficiency
12. Actively drive continuous improvement
13. Any other reasonable request by the line management team
Qualifications
14. Apprentice trained
15. Ability to read engineering drawings and understand Bill of Materials
16. Ability to understand mechanical design assembly
17. Previous assembly experience in a machine manufacturing environment
18. Experience of assembling large fabricated parts to engineering drawings
19. ability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal, machined and electrical components
20. Good verbal and written communication skills
21. Good numeracy
22. Computer literate
23. Hold a counterbalance forklift licence (desirable)
24. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing (desirable)
This is a full time permanent position with a base salary of £26,000-£32,000 depending on experience + overtime of 1.5x base pay and flexitime hours working Monday to Friday during day time hours.
