WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As Production Engineer you will be responsible to develop, implement and improves manufacturing process using the best manufacturing methods and technology to ensure any product produced are created in an efficient and cost-effective manner while complying with health and safety procedures and quality standards. To provide day to day second level technical support for existing production cells (Product, Process and People) following the 5 Step Problem Solving Process (DMAIC) and Standard Processes Documentation.
The Production Engineer will have a direct impact on our Manufacturing group, responsible for:
1. Define, implement and improve Standard Work For Flow in each production cell.
2. Design & implement production jigs, fixtures, and tools.
3. Define and maintain TPM standards.
4. Define and maintain calibration and extraction systems and supporting documentation in all locations.
5. Creation, review and maintenance of SOP’s and documentation.
6. To provide support and training to Production Technicians, Repair Technicians and Quality Auditors.
7. Identify and implement Innovation/Smart Factory projects and be a contributor to the Innovation process.
8. Identify and implement Productivity projects and be a contributor to the cost reduction targets.
9. To drive and control NPI projects, including set up of production lines and new processes, documentation, and training
10. To drive and control CAPEX projects, from concept to installation, commissioning, and production hand-over.
11. To implement and maintain APQP core tools in each production line (PFD, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA and SPC).
12. Report, improve and lead the roll throughput yield (RTY) KPI metric in each production cell.
13. Report, improve and lead Uptime KPI n each production cell.
14. Create, maintain and update BOM’s and Cycle times in SAP.
15. Create and implement Engineering Change following standard process.
16. To assist Buyer/Planner and Quality Engineer with: Brainstorm solutions that directly eliminate root cause, To maintain quality metrics on track, To identify and validate alternative part numbers
17. Drive Continuous Improvement activities on existing and new processes and products, using Lean Manufacturing Techniques, and new technology introduction.
18. Attend and support kaizen events.
19. To follow 5’s standards in all Production Engineering locations.
20. To attend and contribute to the daily Gemba walk review of the KPI boards.

Qualifications and Requirements
21. HND/ Degree in Mechanical / Production / Electronic / Manufacturing Engineering.
22. Experience of Electronics Industry or Automotive Industry an advantage, but not essential.
23. Experience of plastic injection moulding, machine shop and PCBs techniques, an advantage, but not essential.
24. Good working knowledge of pneumatics & control systems.
25. PC literate, including ideally AutoCAD and/or Solid works or equivalent.
26. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing Techniques such as SMED, TPM, VSM, Problem Solving, Kaizen, 6 Sigma trained (either green or Black belt an advantage, but not essential).
27. Experience of creating SOPs.
28. Experience on APQP Core Tools such as Process Flow Charts, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA and SPC.
29. Understanding of Quality Systems and techniques. Knowledge of adhering to BSI, ISO 9001, TS 16949 Quality Management system.
30. Knowledge of SAP.
31. Competent in dealing with equipment suppliers and endeavouring to secure the right products/services at the best price through negotiation.
32. Competent in reading and understanding CAD drawings and the use of basic measuring tools such as Vernier caliper gauges, height gauges, slip gauges.
33. Innovation and Smart Factory techniques such as COBOTs, SCADA, etc.
