Job description
As a Children's Social Worker, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families in Whitby.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs, risks, and protective factors.
* Developing and implementing care plans that prioritise the safety, well-being, and development of each child.
* Providing direct support to families, addressing concerns related to parenting, housing, financial stability, and other relevant factors.
* Intervening in crisis situations and implementing appropriate child protection measures.
* Maintaining clear and accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress in accordance with organisational standards.
* Preparing reports and participating in court proceedings as required, advocating for the best interests of the child.
* Advocating for children's rights and collaborating with legal professionals to ensure proper legal representation.
* Providing education and support to families on parenting skills, child development, and accessing community resources.
Requirements:
* Social Work Degree.
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Relevant experience in children's social work, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying abreast of changes in social work practice.
* Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
* Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
