Senior Gas Engineer
Red Rock Consultants are currently working with a Mechanical Contractor based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme
As a Senior Gas Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the service and maintenance of gas appliances, with a focus on boiler fault finding within both commercial and domestic settings.
You will supervise staff, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support, ensuring effective communication between engineers, office staff, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Service and maintain gas appliances and perform boiler fault finding across commercial and domestic properties.
* Supervise and support staff, troubleshooting technical issues and providing guidance.
* Resolve any issues raised by on-call engineers promptly and effectively.
* Lead projects and teams by providing technical support for onsite engineers and office staff.
* Carry out site inspections, post-work inspections, engineers’ meetings, toolbox talks, tool audits, van audits, and staff inductions.
* Attend service requests and reactive breakdowns to fault find, diagnose, and repair gas appliances in a timely and cost-effective manner.
* Utilize your knowledge of boiler fault finding to achieve high levels of first-time fixes and exceptional customer care.
* Conduct day-to-day responsive maintenance, service, and repairs as instructed.
* Perform servicing and safety checks on heating systems, identifying necessary works to ensure compliance with current gas/oil safety regulations.
* Attend to boiler/system breakdowns, inspect, and identify all required works to ensure heating systems function correctly.
Requirements:
* Extensive experience as a lead engineer in the gas sector.
* Recognized gas apprenticeship and valid commercial gas certificates (ACS – CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CDGA1, CIGA1, TPCP1, TPCP1A).
* Proven experience in analyzing, fault finding, servicing, repairing, and maintaining gas/heating installations and appliances in the commercial sector.
* Working knowledge of test equipment, including electrical multi-meters.
* Willing to travel to multiple sites across the West & East Midlands, with some wider travel as required.
