Park Recruit are partnering with a well-established contractor in the construction and civil engineering sector, in the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Reporting to the Commercial Manager,this role involves delivering commercial expertise to project teams, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and maintaining accurate commercial records. You will work closely with clients and third parties on matters such as variations, claims, and additional payments. Key Responsibilities Deliver accurate, timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels. Ensure precise cash flow forecasts and management. Conduct cost management activities, including forecasting. Update the monthly CVR and commercial plans, while driving the commercial strategy and performance with the project team. Negotiate appropriate terms with subcontractors, identifying and mitigating commercial risks. Maintain positive relationships with the supply chain, ensuring proper engagement with suitable contract terms. Foster strong client relationships. Oversee subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting. Ensure cohesive collaboration between commercial and operational site teams. Adhere to and improve commercial processes across the department. Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members and apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices. Qualifications & Experience: 58 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role. HND or degree qualification in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent). Proven experience in the civil engineering sector. Familiarity with ICE/NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4) and knowledge of current Construction Law. Strong background in commercial management and subcontractor procurement, including leading meetings, measurement/control cycles, certificates, and accruals.
