Guidant Global has partnered with a highly reputable Ministry of Defence organisation in the UK, and our client is seeking a proficient Development and Production Test Engineer with expertise in Electronic/Electrical engineering. The role will entail technical support to the manufacturing test of weapons sub-systems in production and development tests and diagnostics of complex weapons at system and subsystem levels.
What we're looking for:
1. The ideal candidate should possess an HNC/HND (Electronics) Level of Qualification or an equivalent degree and substantial experience in digital and analogue electronics manufacturing and testing.
2. Measurement and testing principles, along with the use of necessary equipment, is an asset.
3. Knowledge of the customary CADMID product lifecycle pertaining to test equipment is deemed advantageous.
4. RF and microwave technology would be highly beneficial, particularly at the subsystem level.
5. Environmental testing, which includes ESS (Environmental Stress Screening), would be considered beneficial for this role.
6. Proficient in oral and written communication, capable of creating comprehensive test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports based on complex higher-level requirements.
7. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
8. Plan and organise own work to ensure multiple tasks can be prioritised and delivered against Project objectives.
9. Manual handling and ESD training.

What you'll get to do as a Development and Production Test Engineer - Electronic/Electrical:
This job involves providing Test Engineering support throughout the different stages of the Design/Development process until Production Readiness Review and release to Operations. You will assist in introducing Test Facilities and ensure that the equipment and facilities are under configuration control before use. Your duties will also involve supporting the testing of electrical/electronic weapon systems and sub-assemblies, including diagnosing production test failures down to circuit card and component levels. You will promptly identify remedial and corrective actions, evaluate technical problems, develop proposals for test equipment investigations and corrective actions, and represent Test Engineering at Defect Review Board meetings to ensure efficient progress towards corrective action.
