An exciting opportunity has arisen for an early years practitioner at Tom Thumb in South Queensferry to join our experienced team.
The successful candidate will act as key worker to individual children in the centre and will:
1. Contribute to the delivery of an effective education and care service in line with the pre-determined policies and procedures of the Nursery and statutory bodies.
2. Work as an effective member of the team to provide an enabling environment in which individual children can develop and learn to achieve their potential.
3. As part of the team establish good communication and effective relationships with the children, staff, and parents/carers.
Applicants must have experience in a similar role, and hold a minimum NNEB/HNC Child Care and Education, or SVQ level3. They will have knowledge of appropriate documentation such as Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition, GIRFEC, HGIOELC and Care Inspectorate quality framework. They will be SSSC registered and preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo an update check prior to offer of employment.
The post is school term time only, following the Edinburgh Council school term dates. Hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8am-3.20pm, Wednesday 8am-4.15pm, and Friday 8am-12pm.
