Tudor Employment Agency are currently recruiting for a Auditor to work for our prestigious client based in Stafford.
The successful candidate will contribute, as an active team member, to the delivery or internal audit services for our client.
Portfolio of audit reviews to be undertaken:
1. Commissioning and delivery of adult social care services
2. Children’s Services, including early year provision and education welfare
3. Economic development, including expenditure of government funding
4. Highways and civil contingency, including flood risk management
5. Legal Services
6. The Staffordshire Pensions Fund
Job Role:
7. The candidate with be required to negotiate the agreement of audit terms of reference and audit recommendations with Commissioners and Business Managers, and for tracking the implementation of recommendations contained in audit reports during their placement
8. Work will include planning and completion of interviews with staff at all levels, using different types of questioning, to maximize the amount of information obtained. Monitor the results of interviews, being alert to any indications of fraud or other irregularities, and report accordingly
9. The ideal candidate will have prior experience of undertaking analytical reviews in complex situations, with sound knowledge of sampling techniques, and computer assisted techniques, outputs and interpretation
10. Practical experience of utilising fundamental ICT systems to facilitate the completion of audit assignments will also be required. The team use the Pentana audit management system, experience of which would be beneficial
The ideal candidate:
11. Candidates must be able to work on their own initiative, and have the ability to present complex issues to different audiences; and to change attitudes and behaviour in a work situation, including the ability to deal with conflicts in a reasoned and persuasive manner
12. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification, have good verbal and written communication skills
13. Previous Internal Audit experience, preferably in a local authority environment, is essential
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm (flexible working arrangements)
Position: This is a hybrid position, the position can predominantly be home based, however, the candidate may be required to attend the office in Stafford on occasion and where there is a business need.
On occasion the candidate may be required to attend other sites and a full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferrable.
