We are looking for a dedicated Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team at our SEMH school in Marple, Stockport. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with secondary-aged students who face a range of challenges, both academic and emotional. You will be an essential part of their learning journey, helping to create an inclusive environment where they can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities.
Support students with their emotional regulation, social skills, and overall well-being.
Help students engage in classroom activities and improve their academic performance.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to monitor student progress and contribute to their personal development.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with students with SEMH or similar learning needs (desirable).
Be compassionate, patient, and empathetic, with a positive attitude towards supporting vulnerable students.
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and parents.
Be proactive, adaptable, and confident in managing challenging behaviors.
Hold a relevant qualification in supporting learning (Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, preferable).
