JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Nursery Nurse / Teacher / Early Years Practitionerwho is Level 3 or Level 2 and working towards Level 3 with good written and verbal communication skills.
Working as the Nursery Nurse / Teacher / Early Years Practitioner you will support the nursery in providing a secure, caring and comfortable environment that nurtures the physical, emotional and cognitive development in which children can learn through experiences.
As the Nursery Nurse / Teacher / Early Years Practitioner you will also liaise with families, colleagues and professionals for the benefit of the child.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Nursery Nurse / Teacher / Early Years Practitioner include:
1. Promote a calm, caring and reassuring personal demeanour at all times
2. Comply with the Statutory Framework, other relevant legislation and deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage
3. Maintain confidentiality about children, their families, other staff or professionals as part of the job
4. Provide physical care and hygienic practice for the children
5. Participate and assist in the planning of developmental activities, encouraging each child to meet his/her potential by supporting them through learning and play with positive reinforcement and praise
6. Follow the behaviour management and safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
7. Act as a key worker for allocated children and provide written and electronic records of attainment from observations of the children, tracking each child’s progress
8. Give feedback and exchange of information to parents/carers on children’s development and progress
9. Comply with the policies procedures and practices of the setting, as clarified by senior colleagues
10. Attend meetings and training opportunities to assist in personal professional development and progress and organisation of the setting
11. Assist in ensuring that the setting is a safe environment for children by, for example, ensuring that the equipment is safe, standards of cleaning and hygiene are high and that health and safety procedures are implemented at all times, reporting to senior staff any concerns
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
12. You will be a qualified early years educator (Level 3 or Level 2 but working towards a level 3)
13. Experience of safeguarding principles and practice
14. The ability to care for and understand the needs of young children
15. Good organisational skills
16. Good verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
17. A positive approach to working with colleagues and partner agency staff
18. Good time keeping
19. Able to set a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the nursery
