The Energy Team are a central team operating from within the Property division of Royal Mail Group with the responsibility of delivering energy management support across the whole property portfolio of c.1,800 buildings. With a workforce of over 100,000 employees and a fleet of over 30,000 vehicles, including an ever-expanding EV fleet, Royal Mails ambition is to achieve net zero carbon by 2040 with a 25% water reduction target by 2030.
To support this, we are looking for an Junior BEMS (Buildings Energy Management System) Energy Manager to support the BEMS Manager in identifying ways to improve the energy efficiency, environment monitoring and carbon emissions across the Royal Mails property portfolio.
The role
Reporting to the BEMS Energy Manager, your focus will be to support best practice energy management, ensuring the built environment is optimised for energy efficiency whilst maintaining building user comfort.
Act as the first line of support, working with the Facilities Management Helpdesk in Leeds and FM Engineering colleagues to identify, review data, and resolve BEMS and HVAC faults.
Have a focus on remote analytics (e.g. monitoring and targeting, measurement and verification) and optimisation of building energy management systems (BEMS).
Work with key stakeholders from across the business, together with supply chain, to help deliver energy savings.
Location: Desk based / remote with ad hoc travel to meetings, home-based, ideally Northern England
About you
You need to demonstrate the following skills and experience on your CV:
Experience in the energy, low-carbon or related industry.
Good understanding of principles of energy management, building services and controls (BEMS, Trend)
Good understanding and experience of building energy management systems (BEMS) installation, maintenance, operation and optimisation.
Ability to work independently and in a group to a high standard with attention to detail.
Dynamic and able to adapt and deliver under pressure with limited information.
