This mechanical design engineer role is to join a growing forward thinking engineering consultancy which offers a family feel. You will be supported in a team environment and your career development will be encouraged via training and opportunities for progression.

Most of the work will be MEP / building services design for NHS trusts (new build and upgrade projects), education, commercial and residential projects. Projects are primarily located in the south of England, with most clients being in the south coast area.

Responsibilities

* Working as part of a design team delivering detailed design

* Liaising closely with other professionals, both internal and external.

* Attending a range of project group and technical meetings

* Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements

* Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint

* Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures

* Carrying out condition surveys and providing recommendation reports to clients

* Maintain good client relationships.

* Offer a friendly outlook to colleagues and clients.

Experience Required

* A competent Building Services Design Engineer.

* Mechanical / Building Services Design qualification to HNC/Degree level.

* Experience of designing mechanical building services.

* Experience should include calculations, drawings, specifications.

* Hold a full UK driving license.
