A well-known company in Redditch is now seeking to recruit a Technical Trainer / Assessor with a sound background in mechanical engineering including mechanical maintenance. Core responsibility of the role is the delivery of training and assessment to learners of all ages in core maintenance skills. In addition, some electrical experience would be advantageous as well as experience in: Pneumatics / Hydraulics Fitting and assembly This opportunity would suit a qualified engineer who is committed to delivering high quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for all learners. Role Requirements: Driving licence Good communication and interpersonal skills Self-starter who is proactive and organised Train and assess learners Develop and present training material Produce reports Monitor candidate performance Experience of working to a QA system Key Duties & Responsibilities Education, Training & Assessment - Produce training plans as required - Deliver high quality training & assessment - Complete learner documentation as required Manage Learners - Monitor learner progress against agreed targets - Ensure learner tracking systems are maintained - Ensure learner reports are completed timely - Maintain, enforce and record learner discipline as required - Ensure the reporting of learner timekeeping and absence - Deal with learner issues and signpost to learner support staff as required - Ensure effective communication throughout the team Maintain Training facilities - Manage equipment, tooling and materials required - Maintain facilities and high levels of housekeeping - Ensure facilities and equipment are kept in good order Commitment to safeguarding - Liaise with Learner Support team as required - Liaise with Centre Lead as required Other Duties & Responsibilities Attend centre meetings as required Support Centre Lead as appropriate Attend CPD events Attend open evenings and other centre events as required Comply with MGTS policy and procedures Essential: - Industrial experience - Qualified engineer to a minimum of Level 3 with proven knowledge of specialism in engineering related subject - Hold or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification - Hold or be willing to work towards an assessor’s qualification - Excellent communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills -An understanding of safeguarding practices and policies. - Ability to problem solve and use initiative - A flexible and adaptive approach -Ability to problem solve and use initiative -A flexible and adaptive approach -Good organisational skills -Ability to prioritise and plan effectively to set and meet deadlines -Ability to recognise discrimination and demonstrate an awareness of equality and diversity -Motivated and enthusiastic approach Desirable: - An understanding of apprenticeship delivery - Experience of supervising or working with apprentices - Experience of teaching/assessing with the ability to teach to a consistently high standard - Experience of maintaining work areas and equipment - An understanding of Ofsted and quality assurance requirements -Leadership/ Management qualification -Health & Safety qualification Mayflower is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
