Creative Practices Lecturer
College location: John Ruskin College (Croydon)
Salary: £28,044 - £39,914 pro-rated accordingly (subject to qualifications, skills, and experience)
Hours: Part time - 4 days a week
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspiring and innovative Creative Practices Lecturer to deliver teaching and learning across our UAL Level 1 & 2 Art, Design and Media courses and BTEC Level 3 Art & Design Practice courses.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures and guiding students in their creative projects whilst contributing to the ongoing development of the creative practices program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Art and Design and skills and knowledge in other creative subjects such as Graphic Design, Gaming Design, Photography, or Digital Media.
Working closely with the Director of Learning and the rest of the team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with students to help them achieve at the highest level, as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will act as a personal tutor, providing pastoral care, promoting attendance, supporting students to attain suitable work placements, participating in team meetings, and contributing to the planning, development, and review activities within your subject area.
The successful candidate must have:
* A recognised teaching qualification
* A minimum of a level 4 qualification in a creative subject such as Graphic Design, Gaming Design, Web Design, Photography, Digital Media, or Information Technology (however, a degree-level qualification would be strongly preferred)
* Relevant industry experience
* Previous, relevant FE teaching experience delivering on relevant UAL and BTEC courses at levels 2 & 3
* Experience in a tutoring role, providing pastoral care in the FE sector
