The postholder will be an integral part of the General Paediatric service across Weston and Bristol, delivering the short-stay assessment and ambulatory care service at the Seashore Centre weeks as the named service consultant, as well as contributing to the General Paediatrics acute inpatient service in Bristol (likely to be 2 weeks and 2 further weekends a year, TBC) and the trust wide Safeguarding consultant service also based in Bristol (4 weeks a year).
Rapid access clinics and routine general paediatric clinics will be held mostly in Weston-Super-Mare. The postholder may be asked to deliver some clinics in Bristol to allow patients to access healthcare closer to home.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
1. Full and specialist registration in either AIM or GIM with the General Medical Council (GMC) or
2. Eligible for specialist registration within 12 months of interview
3. APLS Certified

4. Higher academic qualification e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent
Experience

5. Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in general paediatrics, and safeguarding
6. Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision

8. Up to date knowledge and experience of general paediatrics, and safeguarding children and young people
