Robert Half are working in an exclusive partnership with a reputable, forward thinking organisation in Swindon to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on full-time permanent basis. This is a brilliant, varied position that will be heavily involved with month-end tasks and supporting the wider function with adhoc duties. This exciting role will be suitable for someone that is AAT qualified or qualified by experience that is keen to add value and be a part of a business that is known for offering an excellent work environment. Salary is between £30,000 - £35,000 plus hybrid working and other excellent benefits.
The Role
The main duties of the Assistant Accountant role will consist of:
1. Accruals and prepayments.
2. Balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Journal entries.
4. Preparing weekly reports to support sales and cost of sales.
5. Maintaining the fixed assets register and depreciation.
6. Preparing month-end reports.
7. Preparing VAT reports.
8. Processing payroll information and employee expenses.
Requirements
To be considered for the Assistant Accountant role, you must ideally possess the following skills/attributes:
9. Must ideally have experience within a similar role, experience in month-end preparation would be preferred.
10. AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
11. Hard work ethic.
12. Excellent attention to detail.
13. Strong communication skills.
14. Highly organised.
15. Good team player.
