RMS is excited to be recruiting for an outstanding fabrication company based in the Darlington area. We are looking for a skilled 3D Inventor Draughtsman to join the client’s team on a permanent basis. This is the perfect position for someone with experience working as a CAD Technician/CAD Operator/3D Modeler.

About the Role:
Working as a Draftsperson, you would be responsible for producing accurate 3D models, general arrangement and fabrication drawings, as well as manufacturing documentation. You will ensure the progress and completion of work align with project contract planning.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
6. The ability to design and create 2D and 3D drawings. Must be a strong Drafting Technician and will be required to create and modify 3D models using Autodesk Inventor professional.
7. Produce and self-check engineering drawings and/or associated fabrication details, material lists or Bills of Materials in accordance with the Contract Programme. Ensure that any subsequent corrections, inclusions, or alterations are implemented expediently and record changes together with engineering hours expended in the contract file.
8. To administer and maintain an accurate drawing register in accordance with project work-packs.
9. To provide reporting to the project PM in relation to progress of the work and to update the wider team in weekly production meetings.
10. To ensure that the scope of work assigned together with all relevant Specifications, Codes, Standards and Procedures are fully understood.
11. To ensure all work progresses in accordance with current revisions of all documents and client 2D models and drawings.
12. To maintain a record of all documents produced in accordance with the Company Quality Management System.
13. Liaise with the assigned Design Engineer to ensure that all details comply with design specifications and for assistance or guidance in the interpretation of engineering specifications or instructions if required.
14. Resolve any manufacturing queries raised in the most expedient manner, ensuring that any modifications resulting are approved by the assigned Design Engineer if applicable.
15. To be capable of working effectively with minimum supervision in the office and during site surveys.
16. To liaise with client’s engineer or nominated point of contact for technical issues.
About You:
17. Proficient in AutoCAD Mechanical Software.
18. Proficient in Inventor Software.
19. Proficient in data management systems.
20. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
21. Experienced with Autodesk Vault and ILogic alongside Inventor.
22. Strong computer literacy.
23. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
