Navartis have been requested to recruit a Plant Manager for a well-established client in the rail sector, due to ongoing expansion within the business.
This role will see you working from their location based in Doncaster, performing a critical business role and reporting in to the Head Of Operations. The aim of the position is to deliver a high-quality service to customers, while ensuring full internal compliance is adhered to.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Develop and implement maintenance strategies that ensure minimal downtime for equipment, as well as maximising operational performance
2. Work with internal functions such as manufacturing to provide full scope for maintenance of plant equipment, with a clear parameter on timelines and budgets
3. Work to properly allocate proper resources for tasks – ensuring this is sufficient against internal and external requirements
4. Management of the fleet asset register for machinery and all it’s associated components
5. Performing maintenance of related budgets, driving cost-efficiency while also prioritising the highest quality of service
6. Play a key role in the introduction of systems and technology which will aid in recording tasks which are deemed as safety critical
7. Management of Plant Engineers and Administrators, ensuring knowledge on new procedures and technical support is properly applied in relevant areas
The ideal candidate:
8. Relevant certification such as certified maintenance and reliability professional (CMRP) or Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) would prove to be highly desirable
9. Experience in the management of budgets, as well as the ability to implement and adhere to new procedures and working methods
10. Previous background within a maintenance environment (preferably in rail)
11. Ability to manage teams of varying size, as well as being able to work collaboratively with other business functions
12. A thorough understanding of compliance and safety regulations
