Are you a graduate chemist/scientist with experience of servicing analytical laboratory equipment?
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to work for a manufacturer of scientific instrumentation based in Cheshire. We are ideally looking for a candidate in the North West area to work remotely visiting customer sites (UK and internationally - split below) with occasional visits to the office in Cheshire.
1. 60/40 - travel/office
2. Of the 60% travel - 60/40 UK/International
3. UK work is currently on the increase, however, the work still needs to be completed internationally
Main Responsibilities:
1. Perform installations, PMs, repairs, upgrades, compliance testing and training for customers both in the UK and overseas
2. Ensure all service contract work is carried out within scope of agreement, particularly solving critical issues as efficiently and as quickly as possible
3. Organise schedule to ensure all work is completed to an excellent standard to enhance customer satisfaction.
4. Report accurate times of all onsite activities in the form of reports and expense claims
5. Provide onsite support for IRMS and EA products globally
6. Maintain a highly professional relationship with all customers ensuring customer loyalty and repeat business
7. Testing of upgrade and repairs in the factory
8. Operate in a pro-active manner to assist Product Managers and Sales to identify and develop business potential for both elemental analysis and IRMS instruments and upgrades
9. Liaise with customer support to ensure required parts are delivered to customer site in good time.
Experience and Qualifications required:
1. Degree in scientific background or relevant experience
2. Experience in servicing of scientific equipment
3. Experience of delivering exceptional customer service
4. Good level of computer literacy
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills
6. Experience of dealing with customers in a lab environment
7. Good organisational skills and multiple task handling
