Position Purpose:
As a Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations, ensuring that production goals are achieved in a cost-effective manner while maintaining the highest safety & quality standards. You will play a key role in implementing lean manufacturing methodologies, optimizing workflows, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure timely and efficient production outputs against established KPI’s.
2. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, implement safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and promote a safe working environment.
3. Establish and maintain quality control measures to ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations. Implement quality management systems and drive continuous improvement in quality processes.
4. Support the development, succession planning and retention of our people along with providing effective people management. Maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders including trade union.
5. Drive the implementation of lean manufacturing methodologies, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma, to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.
6. Support annual productivity targets, utilising resources to delivery saving and drive tangible and intangible benefits for the business.
7. Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including labour, materials, and overhead expenses, to ensure that production goals are achieved within budgetary constraints.
8. Lead and motivate a diverse team of manufacturing personnel, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the workforce.
9. Utilize SAP software and other data analysis tools to monitor and analyse production data, identify trends, and generate reports to drive informed decision-making.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including safety, quality assurance, engineering and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of manufacturing activities.
Key Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:
11. Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
12. Level 5 management or leadership qualification or relevant management/leadership experience in Manufacturing (desirable). Proven experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a managerial role.
13. Strong understanding and practical application of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies (green belt desirable).
14. Familiarity with quality management systems and experience in driving continuous improvement in quality processes.
15. Highly desirable to have experience working with SAP software or similar material requirement planning (MRP) systems.
16. Excellent leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, make informed decisions, and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
17. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyse complex situations, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
18. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
19. Understanding and management of health and safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment. (IOSH)
20. Proficient in office packages including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
